OK @ds  I guess I have to put my hand up for broaching this CN issue again quite a few days ago - and in particular to your other point about a possible lack of RI take up.   IMO these two factors are highly correlated if in fact there is a take up problem.  Frankly I'm yet to have anyone or any argument persuade me that it is "normal practice" as someone espoused - that DD can typically be held up to the last moment to gauge a more accurate support level of a connected major rights issue or simply just to get a last minute look at the status of the overall proposition.  Ironically, surely the logic would be for a much greater RI take up if the DD had been completed earlier (evidently the whole CN process for ADO's Canadians started much earlier in the year as someone - maybe GC commented).  Happy to hear the view from anyone who has thought this through and is not overly concerned with the rather vague Plans B and C.
