and do back testing ( which is apply what you understand by looking at historical data and predict what is going to happen and see whether you are right or wrong)
for an example yesterday se saw what we call a "bearish engulfing" or bearish outside bar, and most of the experience traders know that this is a really bearish bar.
Also go to RFN weekly chart and you can see a weekly bullish engulfing bar check whether price will increase coming weeks
