look, i have shares in HPI , which rent pubs to WOW.
they pay 7% unfranked.
a lot of people say that Pokies are evil.
that may be true in principle, but the bottom line is the government needs the revenue.
they may bring out ad. campaigns to try and stop it and save face, but ironically, that is the last thing they want to do.
this may stir the pot a bit, but apparently over 75% of pokies money is sourced from pensioners , just spending their excess cash reserves.
in other words the government giveth with one hand and receives its' handouts back in entirety.
the resultant, beneficial outcome for pensioners is that they feel as though they have at least invested wisely , but were just incredibly unlucky.
this is a dilemma i know, but the longer we can keep their minds active wondering about this, the better chance we have of keeping them out of nursing homes.
