I sometimes contact major shareholders of companies to discuss their views and have done so in the case of Bradken with some of the larger ones. I do it by ringing the person nominated on the Form 605 and go from there. I use a Skype account so it only costs a pittance to ring someone, especially in the US.

You may be surprised at their willingness to engage with a fellow shareholder, especially those HC posters who demonstrate a capacity for independent analysis, such as malmanu and chiggles. remember that most fund managers are investing OP (other peoples' money) and with a wide range of investment options have to rely on some pretty dumb-assed research, especially on smaller stocks.
