Here's a possible translation: We are almost certainly going to make some people redundant but we're not ready to announce anything yet because we're still finalising our review. Unfortunately, the boys on site won't talk about anything else at the moment and the local media have been asking, since it would be big news in Burnie where unemployment is already pretty high. If we put out a vague announcement saying we are doing our best in trying times and are *thinking* about redundancies, that will tide us over until we are ready to make our plans public.

I know people who work there so happy to be proven wrong.
