Dear Sir / Madam
MARENICA URANIUM PROJECT NAMIBIA
ENVIRONMENTAL CLEARANCE RECEIVED
The Directors of the company are pleased to announce that an environmental
clearance has been received from the Ministry of Environment and Tourism (MET) for
Exclusive Prospecting Licence No.3287 (EPL3287) covering the Marenica Uranium
Project in Namibia.
This environmental clearance allows ground disturbance exploration activities to be
conducted within the tenement including drilling.
West Australian Metals is earning an 80% interest in the Marenica project which
comprises a granted Exclusive Prospecting License (EPL3287) covering 706 sq. km.
located in the same geological province that hosts the Rossing Uranium Deposit and
other significant uranium occurrences.
Substantial exploration programs including drilling, trenching, and bulk sampling for
metallurgical test work, were conducted over the project area during the 1970’s and early
1980’s for palaeochannel style uranium mineralisation. This work focused largely on four
uranium mineralised areas located in the northeast sector of EPL3287 (see ASX report 4
July 2006) and within a broad radiometric anomaly covering around 18 sq km.
Exploration work on the project ceased in the early 1980’s as a result of depressed uranium
prices. Recent prospecting work by the company has shown - that outside the northeast
sector - the licence area remains under explored for both palaeochannel and Rossing style
mineralisation with large areas blanketed by sediments associated with current day drainage
systems.
The company initially proposes to conduct a detailed evaluation of the previously drilled
uranium mineralised areas (reported as Anomalies 1 to 4) in addition to examining new
target areas within the project area (see ASX release 4 July 2006).
West Australian Metals Ltd
Yours faithfully,
Leon Reisgys
Technical Director and CEO
This report accurately reflects information compiled by Leon Reisgys FAusIMM, Technical Director of
