It is even more naive to allow refugees from that region freely into Europe.
Libya is being punished by ISIS - with little opposition. Political parties cannot agree on leadership. Libya cannot rule itself. Perfect opportunity to stem the flow from the vicinity where the flow is coming from.
As for the past, you cannot undo it. You can learn from the past and do things better...or you can stick your head in the sand...
