Yes HKP SA have made a rod for their own back. By trying to destroy high cost producers, aka shale, they have in fact made shale about twice as competitive on a cost basis with improved tech and drilling methods. The other problem is OPEC needs the oil price higher than the average cost of shale production to balance their budgets so as far as I can tell they have created their own catch 22. DB
