The message seems to have gotten through. MEO could not expect to give away 70% of Puka for the sake of not wanting to stump up a few hundred k. It appears the dodgey yank with local front was obviously not able to convince NZ authorities it was operator material, rightfully so!
There now appears to be more of a opportunistic tone in PS's comments, hopefully which means MEO will pick up the 70% for a song. With MEO holding 100%, it will be well positioned to farm out large equity stage (say 70%) for some free drilling and remedial works.
Cmon PS, sort this out for us.
