AquaOmnes Technology
AquaOmnes is a liquid-liquid deionization technology for brackish, seawater and brine treatment.
It extracts salts out of saline water with low energy consumption, in line with thermodynamic minimum energy consumption.
The liquid, Flionex®, allows continuous salt extraction, transport and deextraxtion, via an innovative proprietary process..
Energy comparison
"The thermodynamic energy needed to extract salts out of saline water is much lower than what is needed to push water through a membrane or to evaporate it, as displacing minimum mass allows minimum energy consumption.
AquaOmnes desalts water with no membrane and no evaporation, which enables huge energy savings.
PS : For seawater desalination, minimum thermodynamic energy needed is around 1 electrical kWh for each cubic meter desalted.Today desalination technologies spend at least two to three times more."
Technology Benefits
The technology provides a number of benefits
All these benefits contribute to halve the cost of desalted seawater and further more for higher saline waters.
- The Energy Consumption is proportional to salinity, and though, at least divided by two;
- Operating pressure is close to ambient pressure;
- Water Recovery Rates can exceed 85% on sea water;
- AquaOmnes avoids scaling problems and the use of antiscalant
- AquaOmes can be built with unexpensive polymer materials
- AquaOmnes is built vertical allowing minimum footprint

A new wave technology like CETO would go well with the latest desalination technology, one would think.
Increasing the freshwater output by a factor of two or three would probably make CETO 3 and CETO 5 attractive options for some localities.
"1 electrical kWh for each cubic meter desalted."
