shallow drilling A friend who use to work for oil companies said when you have a very good understanding of the geological features of the land and there are work already done in terms of drilling data you only need to drill shallow holes for confirmation. In a sense, it's confirmation of the known (existing) data, not exploring for new data. I think it makes sense.
