Coal comfort
A positive story from the coal sector was found among the quarterlies, and in New Zealand to boot. It seems that an increase in demand for coal from dairy factories across the ditch saw Bathurst Resources (BRL) not only have output above forecast but a cash-positive December quarter with financial reserves increasing to $5.6m. The junior operates three small mines in the South Island (a fourth has just been mothballed) and supplies industrial users including cement production.
