  Wednesday can't come soon enough for Arrium investors.
  
  Shareholders are waiting for the Andrew Roberts-led company to update the market on the sale of its mining consumables business.
  
  Sources stressed a deal may not be done in time for the results - however, the company is preparing an update which should shed more light on the company's future.
  
  KKR & Co, which is working with distressed situations specialists at law firm Ashurst, is the only bidder to have engaged with Arrium's board.
  
  
  Also in the frame are fellow New York firms Cerberus Capital Management and Rhone Capital. Another giant, Blackstone, is on the sidelines, having not officially withdrawn from the contest.
  
  Whether any of these bidders can meet Arrium's price expectations, though, is another matter. As Street Talk reported on Wednesday, bids have been around the $1.1 billion mark. Such an offer would not be enough to provide the necessary relief from Arrium's banks.
