I'm not a silver bug, Spec: the reason I like Investigator is that they have exposure to two metals, silver and copper.
The thing I like about these two metals is that they are heavily used in the renewable energy sector, which I suspect has significant growth potential.
Silver is used in solar panels, an area which has been growing strongly, and copper should benefit from the growing numbers of electric vehicles in the years ahead.
Last year lithium was the top performing commodity, and I think there are some similarities between lithium and silver: both elements are used in renewable energy, and as with lithium there are only a handful of mining companies with exposure to silver.
So just as 2015 was the year for lithium stocks, 2016 might be the year for the silver miners.
Copper probably won't do so well in the short term but might do well a bit further out.
