Unfortunately ABU never announced a JORC for the Old Pirate deposits. At best it was a guesstimate that with hind sight never came near fruition. We are left with almost double the forecast production costs & a fraction of the ounces boasted about. There was the bulk sampling exercise of 8/10 thousand tonnes of ore which i believe was cherry picked at the known widest intersections & was then calculated at that width for the rest of the orebodies. The word Spruiking comes to mind by someone who definitely got their ambitions mixed up with their capabilities whether by being foolish or a deliberate ploy we will never know, & is responsible for millions of dollars wasted & the destruction of value of, for many of us, our hard earned cash. Credibility is now ABUs biggest stumbling block & to re-earn the respect of the mining & investment community major changes at the top must be made. People cannot & should not be paid $350,000 plus a year to send a company & it's share holders into oblivion. Personally i think they should be ( if they stay ) on $100,000 pa & could make up the rest on performance. No performance no pay. If it was me i would be more than willing to partake.
