I think the reference to the cost of wave power was right to the point. It may never be economic in the face of the development of cheap solar+storage systems in places (like Australia) with abundant solar resource.
Maybe this is where the "Islands" strategy is the saviour - here the incumbent is probably mostly diesel-powered generators where CETO should be able to compete on cost as well as being renewable. Once the system is proven in this environment, hopefully manufacturing costs will have dropped to a level where wave energy can become a mainstream renewable along with wind and solar.
