I can only guess Richard's feet needed to be held to the fire. I think of him as one of the " negotiators" and one of the main characters that always concerned me because he seemed to be one of those talking up every next big deal or change only to see them fall through. He is obviously a clever guy but i just dont understand how he can think a deal is close time after time only to have it fall through. Surely after the first few collaborations or potential deal signings fell through wouldnt you learn to recognise the signs and either change the negotiation or stop spruiking. I was almost sure that was why hockings got more directly involved, because their outlay was now getting very serious and the brains of the unit didnt seem to have a handle on the business side??
Hopefully they will keep the train on the tracks and let the boffins actually achieve something this time. Hard to walk up now and believe it is anything amazing at just over 1c and 2 billion on issue though for whatever the reason.
