I havent wanted to answer similar questions because already having something negative to say attracts enough hate on hotcopper... but I wouldnt bet the idea that SGH continues to hire and advertise alone.

Just to give you an example:

I once worked for a company that needed skilled professionals they couldnt find in Australia. They recruited a bunch of people from the UK and convinced them to pack up and move over (relocation paid for).

One guy sold his house and packed up his kids... he moved here. The day before he was about to start they called him and told him to hold off... because they had just announced that the company was ripping up one of its major contracts and making everyone in that area redundant.

(These negotiations had been going on for a while).

So it is not necessarily true that you'll see a company wind down its operations. In fact, everything can and often appears business as usual right until they hit the wall.

Id put some of it down to the commercial sensitivity of some operations... also often the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.

Take that info and apply/ignore/believe what you will.
