We all will call foul play if this has truely been a scam - and much much more. I think one of the reasons I would hold to the bitter end is to participate in the inevitable class-action - just to see the bugger squirm - which might be delayed gratification as I don't think it could be run parallel to the investigation and criminal fraud prosecution.
