My reasoning for managed funds - long short funds is that I just think they are more attune to the market when its this volatile.

I have been investing in Glennon - GC1 as a foil though to cover the smaller market cap area which I am thinking is maturing and faces some challenges like shorting - a lot of this from overseas - amazing how the balance between fear and greed always swings. Dont know about you but this AGI experience coupled with a few others has shown me that the game is evolving and that maybe I need to have someone who can do some of the things I cannot. I like GC1 as you are getting in on the ground floor. I have suggested they look at AGI but I think that like you they are uncertain and the unlisted European company provides little understanding of how they intend to run AGI.

I think that the slow leak in this company's share price was a clue to whether it was good or bad. I could not understand why it kept dropping for some months and as such many funds managers must have been approached both here and overseas. the market share price dropped all the way into the end of December and didnt have the uptick like most in December.

I have always believed that the confidentiality process often is impossible - yes the one director resigned but all the other news was positive to neutral so I did not see this coming - I thought these shares were tied up or that a deal would be to sell the whole company and allow minorities to have the same offer.

I would not vote in favour and facing that i would probably not sway the vote I was left with either accept it or get out. I chose the latter.
