I know where you are coming from, but don't forget that the other income is also being taxed as part of PAYG. So in effect the Govt has the use of that PAYG tax money through out out the year and receives interest, or offsets our large interest debt bill. I know that a portion will get refunded at the EOFY, but when the house is sold, capital gains tax is paid, and the cost base is reduced by the capital portion of the negative gear claimed.
