Without taking sides, if negative gearing is only to be allowed on new properties built then all investors need to re think property as an investment .
It means that investors will no longer look at established properties to buy... so ALL current investors who own property for investment when they go to sell, will have a drastically diminished buyer pool..
Less buyers means less price... so if they were hoping on capital gain to offsett the losses they incurred, they may be in for a shock...
