Thanks eddytaddy for highlighting how absolutely necessary it is for (for example) device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies to collaborate with hospitals, research institutions, healthcare providers, and allied industries. If any of these technological developments were achievable in house, then this company announcement or debate surrounding acquisitions would not be occurring. The other posters obviously lack any insight into how the healthcare industry operates (globally), why it is the most protected industry from disruption-innovation (especially domestic), and what may be required for RMD to reclaim market share in this highly competitive industry subject to regulatory risks.
