Andy, I am aware that during AB's time at SAP he hit 2 quarters of forecasts out of about 12 quarters. He didn't leave SAP, he was quietly told to move on by the female boss in Asia Pac.
I have met him on a couple of occasions. He is polished looking, chiselled and has that sparkle in his eyes. Dresses very sharp! Cool looking dude I guess.
Other than the above, I guess you are correct, he may have just landed himself a job that anyone could lead with great results.
Good luck to him. It's not what you know in this game, it's who you know, once in you're in the club, you're in the club pretty much for most of your career unless you decide to move to and/or control a private organisation.
Just be wary of the company missing targets and forecasts, the insto's in IEL will punish.
