Went to the Upper East Side store today. The name of the candy is called 'Shopkins'. These are dominating at every store at the moment. They look like they are targeted toward girls to be honest. And aren't similar to Yowies at all.

I couldn't find Yowies after one minute of looking and so I asked the guy at the counter to show me where they were. There were on one of the bottom shelves next to the register. I asked him how many he sells in that position and he said about one to two individual boxes a week (12 yowies in an individual box, 36 in a main box). So an average of 18 Yowies a week. About 2-3 a day. $3.99 at this store.

I asked him were they ever popular in his store and he said "Absolutely, they were the most popular thing in the store before Shopkins came in November". He said that the most popular candies get the 'center console shelf'. It's a circular three-shelf display in the middle of the store that stands at about 1.5m and that the best-selling candy gets completely to itself. He said when Yowie had the display he had to replenish all the shelves each morning because they were that popular. There is probably enough room for 10-15 individual boxes on this display. I'm guessing they sold hundreds each week.

He also told me 'Shopkins' were popular because of their Youtube channel. Luckily Yowie seems to be on top of their own Youtube channel and other channels are also getting involved with Yowies.

Would love peoples opinions of Shopkins and Kinder Joy.
