All these supposed loopholes, Lappy, have been around for quite some time, and before Labor gained power in 2007, we were able to manage cash-flows, without talk of more tax grabs.
Being envious of those better off than you, is not a reason to tax them more. How much does the left really want to penalise those that do well?
I saw an article a while back, which suggested only 20% of households are 'net' payers of tax. Are you suggesting getting more out of this 20%?
What I believe we need, is to get more sharing of the load, and a huge cut in spending. We will not get ahead by going back to Keating/Hawke days when the top marginal tax rate was 60%.
