"I have a sales team that report to me every week on their sales performance. I tell them that I only want to know what are their contracted deals."

New contracted deals on a weekly basis? Seriously, Doug? Must be a super-important product/service to be able to keep signing up new deals each week without a pipeline.

Seems like a conundrum to me. Where do sales come from? That's right, the sales pipeline. They certainly don't walk in the door unsolicited. At least, not week in week out. The first thing any sales/business development executive worth their salt learns about is the importance of establishing a pipeline, then keeping on filling it with prospective clients. Pipelines are the life blood of sales. The more prospects in the pipeline, the more new - and repeat business - you will eventually generate. No pipeline, no sales, no contracts, no business.

Buddy has a sales pipeline that must be the envy of every organisation within this space, or without. A pipeline, I might add, that is increasing exponentially as we speak. DM has never made any unrealistic predictions about when the deals will land, or how many will ultimately convert. He has never tried to hype it up. Indeed, he has gone out of his way to let the market know that deals of the quantum Buddy is pursuing have a long lead time, in some cases very long.

But when Dave also tells us that Buddy has two near-term prospects in the pipeline that will generate 20-60 million unique data transactions per day that will in turn meet the transaction components of the company's performance milestones in their entirety, I'm happy to believe him and run with that. From there, I am looking forward to reading the announcement of the conversion of these pipeline prosects into contracted business, and hence, revenue.

I have no doubt it won't happen, and no reason whatsoever to believe - as you imply - that he is feeding the market BS.

That is not how he got to be an advisor to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

    Good luck.
