I agree with the stockbroker cracked, there is such a huge gap between a scientific breakthrough and commercialisation. The way raider tells it the invention will morph into a massive industrial plant spewing out seamless made to order membranes in a matter of months when really this development, if it ever happens is many years away. Also need to be mindful of the difference between a provisional patent and a patent. If the new process has commercial possibilities that threatens other commercial processes the multi nationals could contest the patent purely to delay it and it hold it up in the courts for years and drive Ionic to bankruptcy in legal costs. Meanwhile their own process will be become the industry standard. And what about the economics of the new processes? These boffins are not commercially minded people in my opinion. I could go on and one but the bottom line is that Ionic needs a commercial product and I have seen nothing to suggest it is within years of having one. Having said that this is an interesting and promising development and I reckon it will lead to a speculative albeit short lived rally in the SP.
