What a joke! The Matrix will not only be a hit but you won't even find an analyst out there with any credibility that does not believe the Matrix will make over $US 100 million this weekend in the US alone. This time next week, the Matrix would have made over $US 200 million worldwide and would shatter record after record. This is not optimism, it is a fact! The level of interest from every demographic is huge and polls have shown pre-screening interest is even higher than last year's Spiderman and any of the Star Wars Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings films.
In regards to movies to be produced by Village after the Matrix, there will be the heavily anticipated epic Troy to be directed by renowned director Wolfgang Peterson starring Brad Pitt and Eric Bana and the sequel to the $US450 million hit Ocean's Eleven.
Village will do very well with their film production inthe next 2 years. The only major concern is the Kirby brothers deliberate attempt to bash the share price so low that they will do a Kerry Packer with Crown Casino and buy at ridiculous low levels and profit huge in future years.
