I have to ask is the Fed trying to have their cake and eat it to? "No rate hike but we might do another hike next month if youse don't all behave yourselves".
They can't really afford another rise and they know it. It's hurting the economy and the little people, with huge mortgages,(don't forget they just had their property boom) could really start going to the wall. The little people are also the ones who vote govt's in and out. But if you just THREATEN to raise rates, even if you know you can't really that's another thing. Look what happened to the DOW in late trade with the threat of another hike next month. And the little people get to keep their houses for another month.
Fiendishly cunning are the Fed.
