When/If Telefonica is confirmed as the partner, that is massive news. As you say in response to America Movil move to partner with PayPal for theire mobile wallet strategy(who bought out Xoom you will remember as part of the remittance feature), this will confirm that Telefonicas response is a blockchain based strategy, wit Airpocket as its first partner providing its underlying architecture.

Telefonica has shut down mobile wallet operations in 2013 as they were not clear about how the strategy would work. If they are now getting back into, a blockchain based strategy opening up a wide variety of banking products, as well as telco producst (online purchases, airtime etc) and a remittance feature makes a lot of sense strategically.
