Shit yeah! Literally. All the effluent going into the oceans from Australia is treated to the third stage now, whereas even a couple of decades ago raw sewage would be pumped at a couple of places. In Europe the rivers have ceased to be chemical dumping grounds so that there is fish back in them, "Spend your days criss-crossing the Thames via various bridges, but never stopped to contemplate what lies beneath? Despite its murky brown appearance, the water quality of the Thames has steadily improved since sewers were repaired in the 1960s, and is home to seals, otter and even seahorses." And dolphins, salmon etc.
Absolutely serious. Same for air quality. (nooo, not that we have dolphins in the air )
