Wow, I thought SA was in strife! Although Rann really copped it over the budget, at least he did think he had a watertight agreement with BHP on the Olympic Dam expansion. He then committed to infrastructure spending which was needed, then it all fell apart when BHP reneged. So more bad luck than bad management at the end of his term.


Looking at those budget figures though, it seems clearly to be bad management in WA. Barnett could only have been stupid or dishonest at expecting iron ore prices to be so high.
