My guess is that the (very) Cross benches will all buckle and pass the governments construction watchdog legislation, thereby obviating the need for a DD (unfortunately imo),
Xenophon will put forward modest suggested amendments of little import (in the Nick of time), but sufficient enough for the CB's to appear not to have acquiesced.
The bluff and confected bravado of Lambie, "the brick with eyes" and others will evaporate as they capitulate and display typical pollie preservation self centeredness.
