Pharmacies pay $100/month to use the service. Competing applications charge perhaps ~$50 per month but also charge for the SMS reminders. Economies of scale takes affect for the larger pharmacies (with larger customer base) as MDR doesn't require the services of a SMS Gateway, so that $100 per month is quickly recouped.

MDR also receives significant revenue from the drug manufacturers when they include logos and product information. With the impending GP Link application MedAdvisor will receive transaction fees for replacement script orders.
