680mm of rain this month, and more rain forecast.
Even IF an MDL was granted. Here's a hypothetical 'to do' list:
1. Satisfy conditions precedent, maybe bonds? possibly more environmental base line studies (you can't do them in the wet season necessarily)
2. Community consultation (hey we're running trucks through the main street every 10 minutes for a month, you ok with that?). Dust, noise to consider and mitigate. More time, throw in some loud activist greenies for good measure
3. Landowner agreements. If they haven't expired already, will they exercise the option to purchase properties? Other settlements or extensions to negotiate? time, time, time
4. Contractors to tender, award etc
5. Port contract (an MOU is worthless), more negotiations and time etc.
6. Stockpile and loading infrastructure. Remember Ponzi said the magnetite was still there. Delays, more time, more hold ups..
We know how unorganised and bumbling QBL are, just look at the track record.
As Ponzi said, IF the MDL is granted it's more about what QBL do THEN that's relevant.
But as usual there's those on here blind to what's been going on and continue to pump it up regardless.
