your maths needs honing , capital gains tax, trading is not just as easy or assured of a positive outcome as opposed to investing and reinvesting the diivy compounding by far beats trading but it all depends on you and your needs--I trade for income and at times collect divvy observing the taxation requirements to claim franking credits if I didnt need income I would be significantly better off in a number of funds, so dont condemn others some of whom have absolutely no need of income from shares yet are long term holders, go read about people who are absolutely committed investors whom I doubt has been overly concerned by market gyrations as opposed to the PLAN
