One thought comes to mind ..... Why on earth would a number of the huge, rich, greedy American companies that surround this piece of real estate to be sold to a little, insignificant, poor Australian company in the first place????
Surely if the project is that good, more willing buyers will be in the pit to try to get a piece of it.
