Having supplied mechanical engineering services and products to hotels in India and SE Asia, I do not see how Leapin are at the forefront of smart lock systems.

Hilton (Hilton, Double Tree, Hampton) and Starwood (Sheraton, W, Westin) have both rolled out these solutions globally since the beginning of 2015. However, currently, the solution is only available to loyalty program members.

I asked the head of Engineering Services in Asia-Pacific of one of the world's largest hotel operators for his opinion on Leapin. He had never heard of them and said there were many players in this space. Part of the Leapin process is managing the check-in process. The opinion of my contact: it's unlikely a major brand, would allow a small outside party to enter into this aspect of the hotel eco-system for many reasons including security and control of the customer "user experience".

Airbnb is another story. Here you have individual dwelling owners who may be more willing to upgrade their locking system for the benefits offered by Leapin. However, it would not be a sale to Airbnb, but sales to each property owner. Hard-work for small drip-feed sales unless advocated by Airbnb.

As another poster highlighted, Leapin has a couple of case studies from 'mum and dad' operators. Hardly the "forefront", IMO.

I could not understand the fanfare when this announcement was released considering the size of Leapin. What I like about the Leapin/VitalXense/UniSA etc is it shows us the different types of applications for XPE's technology rather than the potential of the deals done with the named parties.

No reason why XPE cannot partner with other smart lock players and with the hotel operators directly etc. As JS stated, they have partnerships brewing at many different levels. The ones mentioned above are the "small fry" compared to the behemoths (chippies and US tech giant).

I do agree with you re: XPE commercialisation stage. We may get to revenue generation from one of our behemoths by June/July as per the Investor Preso and these revenues will not be insignificant based on $1.50/chip.
