    Northern Territory Chief Minister Adam Giles has heaped the blame for the downsizing of the $800 million gas pipeline, which will link the territory into the east coast gas grid, squarely on the NT Labor opposition, but gas resource owners say that tariffs to transport gas further south are also an issue.
    Mr Giles said gas developers such as Central Petroleum and Pangaea Resources had stepped back from committing to using the new gas pipeline from Tennant Creek to Mt Isa because of the sovereign risk around investment created by Labor's support for a moratorium on fracking.
    "It's extremely, extremely disappointing that there is not a bipartisan approach to gas in the Northern Territory," Mr Giles said in an interview.
