Policy will decide the election not charm. Tony Abbott proved that. He went to the election promising no cuts to health and education. No cuts to the ABC and SBS. No cuts to pensions etc and to repeal the carbon and mining tax. In spite of his personal unpopularity he got there and if he had of stuck to doing what he said pre-election he would still be there with a big winning margin. However, he repealed the carbon/mining taxes but backflipped on all his other promises and the rot set in and he is no longer in the top job.
The Party with the best policies according to the swing voters will decide the 2016 election.
