Poyndexter, IMO it's even simpler than that.
Australians expect our values to be respected - fairness, opportunity for all, giving a helping hand to those doing it tough, respecting differences such as religious beliefs etc.
What really gets up our nostrils is learning about just how unethically opportunistic some of our wealthiest and most privileged people really are. IMO they deserve NO respect and should be TARGETS for major savings in the Budget - it's reality check time for the sleazy and greedy!
As demonstrated by the ICIJ, they qualify for membership of the new global nation whose citizens avoid tax altogether and whose interests are submerged under multiple layers of shell companies located in tax havens.
