The point I was wanting to make is that middle Australia has much to be thankful for and that imo we take for granted ... middle Australia could and should aspire to pay more tax, not avoid it in appreciation of past generations and governments and future generations and government ... middle Australia would not be where it is comfortably sitting today if not for the efforts of past generations and governments.
I glaze right over when I read and hear wealthy middle Australia wanting to put that responsibility on a small demographic of wealthy Australians and at the same time seek to deny some basic care and responsibility for say disadvantaged and elderly.
Australians are better than that.

I concur with what you say, but Middle Australia pay their fare share, when you look at
what Business, Corporations and FRC's. I've worked both wage and self employed, plus
ran small business and I know you can push claims to the limit.
I also know "acquaintances" who push the envelope with the ATO to infinity and beyond!
I'm no dog, but I wish the taxman called on them!
I've contracted to mega Mining Companies and they are anally raping us, this country and
future generations. Sorry about the analogy, but I can't think of a better description!
Ditto Banks, and Accountant's who set up these "Tax Minimisation Schemes.

Seriously, do some research (with an open mind) on Germany , post Depression, and what
went on in regards to the economic situation and why things turned out the way
they did! Strewth you could start post WWI. Things aint always what they seem!
Until you see 'em up close.
Now there's a way to put the money lenders back in there place! They got what they deserved,
but so did the rest of Europe.
