you get a larger community when a stock gets overhyped and overbought by a large spread of investors, namely including mum and dad investors who like to use forums inefficiently, therefore alot of posting/reposting goes on. when alot of uprampers post stuff it makes them feel safe in investing the stock even to $2+ buyers. It can be a bit of a lure and false sense of security as alot of investors get emotionally attached to a stock and want others to join them in the love affair.

Its always nice to take the opportunity to use these situations to your advantage because you know generally that big instos beat mum and dads in investing. so you fly with their plane and don't sink with the ship
