This emu seemed to be imprinted on us. Very gentle really for a bird of this size. Would run up when he saw you and crouch down for a good feather rubbing.
The only people at risk were those who chose to open the gate to his paddock and enter uninvited.
Now if you want a really dangerous pet try a male red kangaroo. Absolutely nasty.
Despite being hand raised he was very dangerous. We passed him onto an animal park for their drive through display.
