Ok, I'll put it out there as nobody is discussing it.
Net profit fell 99% to $26 million, squeezed by $1.1 billion in one-off charges.
Therefore, WPL's profit this time might come in anywhere between 500 and 1 billion, on an annualized basis.
Given that oil and gas prices continued to plumb lows and only hit bottom this quarter, I'd be inclined to low ball WPL's profit at around at the 550 end. Anything above this is quite probable and would result in a return of investors and confidence. The bar for profit and production is low.
Some further details on the Myanmar finds could be a boon as well.
Any other guesses, thoughts?
