Where did you get this quaint idea that the US is a democracy?
It is closer to feudal Europe with warring kings. The king may change but no one ever asked the serfs about it. If you were a romantic rather than an ideologue, you could easily picture Trump as a Don Quixote, charging the windmills of the establishment, or even a modern day William Penn with the Magna Carta in hand.
