Wombat, the way to "drop" a tall edifice (even if it's a house of cards) is to knock out its foundations. It's a long slog just to hammer away at the top story first.
Slapping the wrists of these TBTF banks is just for show.
To me, You seem to intimate that somehow these fines and damage actions are going to bring about a banking collapse and reset. Am I correct?
I suggest that, in a world of unlimited conjured up money, overt and covert, that will not be allowed to happen. It's just too easy for this system to hold the status quo together. No amount of scandal will faze them either.

They have their Achilles heels however.
IMO they are the worsening world economy, for which they have no fix, and their loosening grip on gold. Gold will destroy the petrodollar. The death of the petrodollar spells it's death as a world reserve currency.
These two problems, working together, will bring this financial and monetary system down.
The elite know this full well. Witness the bizarre propaganda buildup against Russia and China.
It's nothing personal, just business! The business of USD control, using gold control. That gold control looks very threatened by China, and soon.
The world economic slowdown is something the elite are powerless to prevent. It is bringing political change. I sincerely hope that change can be achieved relatively peacefully.

So, in short, I no longer focus on the banks dirty tricks circus. That's the top of the crumbling Western edifice. That could go on forever. The foundations are gold and the economy.
    AIMHO,OC!
