"A citys growth is dependant on its ability to move mass amounts of people via the shortest routes and time frames."
Why would our cities want to grow any more? There comes a time when the limit is reached. And why do all these people need to move about so much? We need to see a fundamental change in how people work, and use the technology available, rather than continue to put band-aid solutions to transport problems. Why are all these people trying to get into the city? Very few of them produce anything.
I think the developers got that Green area development right. If all those people were able to get out quickly, then the city would be more gridlocked than it is. Better to have many suburban jams with the traffic trickling into the CBD and having enough room to move around to get to their parking spots rather than a huge jam in the CBD with no room to move.
