Well, IMO when one is investing in the sharemarket, one has to look at every possible angle to see if he/she is doing the right thing. The history is written in the books whereby many people have lost some big money investing in companies which failed to make traction while the Directors and Board of those companies have not fared as badly (if anything at all), as the shareholders did.
And just in case you don't know it, I suggest you do a proper research to find out as to how Management and Boards are faring when a company is and has gone to the wall, while the contrary is always the case for the shareholders.
Shareholders have gone to the wall but Management and Board Directors haven't IMHO...
Let me add that I have been on these predicaments in the past myself and there is no guarantees that I will not do the same thing again, nevertheless I am keeping my eyes open as much as possible in order to avoid a repetition of what I have been through in the past. Most importantly I try to read as much as possible and digest what others are saying in the their posts before sending it to the scrap heap.
I am not ashamed to admit that I have written off some very large amounts of money by not listening to others and that is how I learned. PLV is the latest. If I was to have listened to the advise of some others considered to be downrampers, I would have at least sold sufficient shares to recover my original investments when the shares were at dizzy heights at the time. But I didn't..
What worries me as well, (while I note that for many here it doesn't really matter), is the fact about the value of the Market cap of our company in contrast to all the debt we owe plus what we owe to Santos as well. As you correctly pointed out, we can also not forget what is written on page 17 of that announcement which, contrary to what many here have said in the past, it is a real concern. To me anyway, and I am sure that any pencil pusher out there would agree with what I am saying. Are the ones which are saying that it doesn't matter one iota and that it doesn't mean anything, pencil pushers too.???
That is the question which IMO has to be asked. Because, IMO ignorance of the fact is what can play a part to that.
I also noticed that someone here was saying that thousands upon thousands of other listed companies in the ASX have the same qualification in their reports at all times but, when I replied that aren't than many companies listed in the ASX, someone decided to push a different button and bury their heads in the sands instead,
After all, which company would like to have that qualification entered in their own reports if it wasn't a concern.???
But to each his own...Time will always tell who is right and who is wrong.
